John O’Hara upset the form book by qualifying on pole position for Round eleven of the Asian Formula Three Series at the Batangas Race Circuit in the Philippines. Tyson Sy, who had dominated the practice times all week, only managed fourth on the grid with Ananda Mikola second and O’Hara’s team mate, James Winslow in third place. Emmet Queenan impressed by being the fastest Promotions Class runner.

Tyson Sy demonstrated he will start as favourite to qualify on pole position for Sunday’s race at the Batangas Race Circuit by posting a time four tenths quicker than the next man. Emmet Queenan was fastest Promotion Class runner.

Tyson Sy set fastest time of the day with John O’Hara and Ananda Mikola joint second and Rodolfo Avila fourth quickest just a fraction slower. The weather did its best to spoil the day with heavy showers resulting in a circuit which was never fully dry. Moreno Soeprapto was just fastest in the Promotions Class with Murphy, Farrell and Legris all close to the Indonesian.

Several teams tested at the Batangas Race Circuit last Monday and Tuesday in readiness for this weekends final round but heavy rain resulted in little meaningful running.

A new motorsport initiative, Aviation Displays Team Ireland, hits the track at the Batangas Race Circuit in the Philippines on November 6th for the final round of the Asian Formula 3 Series.
