Geared towards the 52nd Macau GP, 18-year old Macanese star driver Rodolfo Avila concluded two private test sessions, the first at Most, Czech Republic and the latter at Eurospeedway Lausitz, Germany both with positive and encouraging results.

Backed by HBR Motorsport, the tests were conducted in a Mercedes Benz M271-powered Dallara F305, which Avila has commented to be a very exciting car to drive.

“The results of both tests are encouraging, to say the least. The relationship and development that ensued with the expertise of my engineer (Knud Rieser) and team manager (Sigi Muller) is quite invaluable and the overall package simply adds more confidence”, remarked Avila, who, is expected to be the youngest of the F3 drivers for the Macau GP. “The Mercedes Benz engine is incredibly powerful.”, added Avila.

Formula BMW UK Rookie race winner, Jonathan Legris, has signed with the Tuason Racing School Team to drive their Dallara 398 TOM’S car in the Promotions Class for the final AF3 event at the Batangas Race Circuit in the Philippines on November 6th.

Legris will follow in the footsteps of Oliver Turvey, who like Legris had raced in the Formula BMW UK Championship and finished last year by competing at BRC in the Promotions Class, impressing by taking a class win. Eighteen year old Legris has taken several ‘Rookie’ class wins in the extremely competitive British F.BMW Championship and he is also expected to be competitive at BRC.

The Philippine National F3 is run, for Filipino Nationals, in conjunction with the Philippine rounds of the Asian F3 Series and the champion will be crowned on November 6th. After the first event held last April Pepon Marave leads from Enzo Pastor, Dado Pena and Tyson Sy. The last two named are really suffering for their non-finishes in April and will find it difficult to overhaul the points of Marave.

Filipino all rounder, Joel Retuya, will join Fujitsu Ten Toyota Team TOM’S for the final round of 2005 to be held at the Batangas Race Circuit in the Philippines on November 6th. He will drive their Dallara 304 car.

Irish driver, nineteen year old Emmet Queenan, joins Speedtech Asia to contest the Promotions Class in the final event of the year at the Batangas Race Circuit in the Philippines on November 6th.

The highly rated driver has competed in the British Formula Renault Series this year after dominating the 2003 Formula Ireland Championship. He will be driving the team’s Dallara TOM’S 398 which proved competitive in the hands of fellow Irishman, Barry Waugh, at the Sentul Circuit earlier this year.

This will not be his first taste of Formula Three, having tested for Coloni Motorsport in Italy back in 2003. He should not be concerned about coping with the power of a Formula Three car as he has driven a Formula Nippon car in a test with the DoMoCo Team in Japan.

Season long Promotion Class front runners, Champion elect Moreno Soeprapto and fellow Irishmen Lee Farrell and Greg Murphy are going to have their hands full if they are to beat the newcomer to the Championship.
