Planet Hollywood Jakarta was the venue for a press conference launch of the AF3 event at the Sentul Circuit on September 18th. The AF3 drivers were introduced to the press and interviews filmed for local TV news. A fashion show rounded off the evening.

Tyson Sy headed the field after the first practice day for the September 18th Sentul Circuit event. Dado Pena was second from local hero Ananda Mikola, John O’hara and Rodolfo Avila. Moreno was just faster than Lee Farrell in the Promotions Class with Greg Murphy third.

The reigning Asian Formula Three Champion has been chosen to partner Will Power in the Australian A1GP team. Jones joined the AF3 Series for the final event of 2003 and went on to win last years championship. An AF3 Spokesman said “We are delighted for Christian and this demonstrates how AF3 can help promote the careers of talented drivers. Christian was able to continue his career through our series and we hope this demonstrates that any driver should seriously look at Asian F3”.

The Asian Formula Three Corporation today announced that TOM'S Toyota will be the supplier of the one make engine for the 2006 Asian Formula Three Series. The agreement is for a minimum of three years. The engine will be a full FIA specification TOM'S F3 power plant and will run with a controlled RS Sport ECU.

John O’Hara won the first race of the day, round seven of the AF3 Series from team mate James Winslow and Filipino Dado Pena whilst Ananda Mikola clinched a controversial round eight from Tyson Sy and Dado Pena. Lee Farrell and Moreno Soeprapto shared the Promotion Class spoils.
