Miura handed Promotions Class win whilst Sy now second. Sy’s team have appealed so the results remain provisional.

A dramatic race saw O’Hara lead from pole and build a comfortable lead before his wooden splitter was ripped off on the Bus Stop kerbs and the consequent loss of down force allowed Jones to easily pass. The race then finished under the safety car following a heavy accident to Don Pastor, possibly caused by him hitting the remains of O’Hara’s splitter.

John O’Hara qualified first, recording a 1m 10.501 with five minutes of the thirty minute qualifying session left to run. Christian Jones had set the initial pace with a 1m10.784 lap and then sat in the pits believing he had done enough to take the top spot. Jones immediately rejoined the fray once O’Hara had gone quicker but despite his best efforts he was unable to topple O’Hara from the top spot.

O’Hara recorded at 1m 10.7 lap to head the time sheets, with Mark Goddard and Christian Jones joint second and JoJo Silverio a close third.

Christian Jones set an incredible 1m 10.2 second lap during the second of the three practice sessions today then parked it, no one was any where near close to worry him! New boy, Aaron Caratti, blotted his copybook by parking his car in the tyre wall.
