Dillon Battistini has resigned with the Fujitsu Ten Racing with Threebond JA Motorsport Team, for the remainder of the Asian Pacific Championship. Dillon drove for the team in 2006 and feels he has some unfinished business with the AF3 Championship winning team for the last two years.

2006 Asian F3 Champion, James Winslow, received a special award at the Watkins Lecture held in the UK. Professor Sid Watkins made the presentation on behalf of Motorsport News to mark Winslow’s heroic action in saving the life of a fellow competitor, Moreno Soeprapto, at last years Sentul AF3 event.

The Asian Formula Three Corporation today announced the dates for the 2007-8 Series. As in previous years the series will visit China, Indonesia and the Philippines. “We believe we represent the most cost effective International F3 racing World Wide and that the new format, starting October and ending in April, will allow even more drivers to experience F3 racing at an International level” reported an AF3 spokesperson.

Interest in the next round of the AF3 Pacific Series to be held at the Sentul Circuit in Indonesia on May 12-13th is currently running very high. “We have had a large number of new potential competitors contact the teams and it looks certain we will have a good grid at Sentul. Competitors have the added incentive of gunning for the prestigious Presidents Cup which will be awarded to the driver who scores most points over the three races held at the event” reported an AF3 spokesperson.

Team Release: Team Goddard’s Henri Karjalainen set the pace in the Asian F3 Pacific class in the Melbourne F1 GP support races but was robbed by bad luck and the bad judgment of his rivals. Team Mate, Moreno Soeprapto, also suffered bad luck although he did take a class win in the first race.
