Ananda Mikola sets the pace on day one of BRC test – Mar 19 05

Ananda Mikola posted the fastest time at BRC this year, recording a 1m 23.7 lap in his Fastron Racing Dallara 304 Nissan.

Mikola reported that the engine felt good but also that the car was handling extremely well. Tyson Sy ended the day second fastest, setting a 1m 24.4 time in his Speedtech Dallara 301 TOM’S car. He reckoned the car was good, his only problem was a trip into the gravel at the final turn.

John O’Hara was having a torrid time in the TOM’S Dallara 302/4, finding the car to be extremely loose and also experiencing a bad brake locking problem. His best was 1m 26.3, he hopes to claw back some of the missing speed tomorrow.

Dado Pena got out for a few shakedown laps at the end of the day, this being his first drive in the Team Goddard – Minardi Team Asia Dallara 301 TOM’S car. His real testing begins tomorrow with the team staying on for another days running on Monday.
