The Asian Formula Three Corporation today announced that TOM'S Toyota will be the supplier of the one make engine for the 2006 Asian Formula Three Series. The agreement is for a minimum of three years. The engine will be a full FIA specification TOM'S F3 power plant and will run with a controlled RS Sport ECU.

Eddie Pena, Chairman of the Asian Formula Three Corporation, said that "We are happy to be renewing our relationship with TOM'S and I am sure it will strenghten the number of entries next year. The engine will be leased to the competitor at an extremely competitive cost for the season and this will ensure we retain our close competition whilst keeping costs in check".

All engines will be sealed and the mapping for each event will be undertaken by TOM'S who will download an identical 'map' for all ECU. A print out of the relevent data will be available to the organizers to ensure parity of performance.

A leading AF3 team owner said "This is great news, we can now keep our budget for the 2006 series at a reasonable level and we can guarantee our drivers that their engine is as good as any one else's on the grid".
