Batangas Testing washed out - Nov 02 05

Several teams tested at the Batangas Race Circuit last Monday and Tuesday in readiness for this weekends final round but heavy rain resulted in little meaningful running.

Tyson Sy topped the list if runners and he proved fast in the difficult conditions surviving a couple of spins. Newcomer Jonathan Legris underwent a baptism of fire, learning a new car and track on a treacherous surface. Christian Jones shook down the chassis of team mate Rodolfo Avila whilst Mark Goddard did the same for Dado Pena.

The Batangas Circuit has a newly altered first turn which has increased the lap distance by 300 metres and the lap time between three and four seconds. The pit straight is now longer whilst the first turn is a second gear rather than third gear corner. Track owner, Johnny Tan, says the hope is to allow more overtaking through a longer straight into a tighter turn.
