O’Hara led from start to finish, pulling away from his team mate James Winslow who had a good gap to Ananda Mikola after he had swept by the Indonesian on the first lap. Mikola was followed by Sy, Pena and Avila at the close of lap one. Avila was the man on the move, passing Pena and closing on the dueling Mikola and Sy. Sy attempted to out brake Mikola into the first turn but went off in the process effectively handing the championship to Mikola. Sy rejoined behind Pena in sixth place. Avila’s charge continued and he soon closed on Mikola who offered little resistance to the Macanese once he was caught. Winslow was his next target and he soon fell to the flying Macanese who finished a fine second.
Winslow had been adjudged to have jumped the start and he ignored the Stop and Go Penalty Board for several laps. The officials finally black flagged him, resulting in his disqualification. This promoted Mikola to third followed by Dado Pena and the recovering Sy.
Moreno just needed one point to win the Promotions Class Championship and he made sure with a safe second to the impressive Emmet Queenan. Lee Farrel was third from Greg Murphy who just wanted to finish to consolidate his second in the Championship. Jonathan Legris was initially third and had passed Moreno for second when he pulled off with an electrical gremlin.
