Much against expectations a Neil Brown Honda has outgunned the Mercedes power plant with Carbone’s Opel Spiess in fourth. Danny Watts is leading TOM’S driver in sixth place, his TME car heading works TOM’S driver Joao P de Oliveira. Naoki Yokomizo was fifth in his Nissan powered car. Interestingly Carbone is driving the Signature chassis, the very different looking car obviously well suited to the streets of Macau.
The grid will be decided after the second and final qualifying session on Friday. Avila qualified twenty fourth in the thirty car grid with a time of 2m 17.847. Michael Ho was one place behind, perhaps put off by the crass rudeness of a certain TME personnel. This is Ho's second year driving for the team, which is usually extremely professional and noted for it's pleasant staff, a pity one member of it's management has not learnt the value of good manners!
