Introduction of 2005-7 model cars postponed – Aug 10 07
The Asian Formula Three Corporation have decided to delay the introduction of the 2005-7 model car, therefore the latest model allowed in the upcoming Asian F3 2007-8 Series will be 2004 cars, such as the Dallara 304.
AF3 had initially announced that 305-7 cars would be allowed for the 2007-8 series however it soon became apparent that very few cars would be available for the first event in November, due to the cars still being in use in various European and the Japanese championships. Add in the fact that the few cars available were being offered at grossly inflated prices it was felt that in the interests of cost it was best to postpone the introduction of the current model cars.
“Our series aims to give drivers cost effective Formula Three experience and the 304 car certainly still offers a fantastic opportunity to learn the art of racing and setting up an F3 car” remarked an AF3 spokesman.
