Hamad jumped into the lead from Niall Quinn with third place disputed by Suzuki, Howson and Vervisch. The latter sold them all a dummy at turn one and swept into third place. It took four laps to catch and pass Quinn and he was then able to home in on leader Al Fardan. He was right on his tail with two laps to go when Al Fardan’s engine started to misfire and he rapidly fell backwards, ending a disappointed fifth. This left Vervisch to take an easy win from Quinn whilst behind Matt Howson was just able to hold off Rafael Suzuki on the line.
