Vervisch made a good start to lead into the first turn but fellow front row man, Rafael Suzuki was slow away allowing Matt Howson into second place. Howson and Suzuki were battling hard, more than once running side by side which allowed Vervisch to open up an immediate gap. It took Suzuki four laps to find a way past with an audacious round the outside move at the first turn, possibility the overtaking maneuver of the season. Once past he quickly drew away and whilst he closed the gap slightly to the leader, Vervisch controlled his pace to take the win and a Team Goddard one two.
Howson started to lose pace on lap eight with a brake problem and that allowed Ed Pead to close in rapidly. However a mistake a couple of laps later saw him fall back giving an easier ride to third place. Ed Pead’s Aran Racing team mate, Leonaro Valois was fifth with Roland Hermoso completing the top six. Peter Kalpakiotis was first in the Promotions Class.
The final round of the 18 race series will take place this afternoon.
